Monoclonal antibody to human neuronal acetylcholine receptor subunit alpha-4 [4E3]: IgG

$287.00USD

Catalogue No. M-815-100
Description
Neuronal acetylcholine receptor is composed of alpha and beta subunits. The Alpha-4 subunit can be combined to beta-2 or beta-4 to give rise to functional receptors. Upon binding of acetylcholine, the acetylcholine receptor responds by undergoing an extensive change of conformation affecting all its subunits and lead to the opening of an ion-conducting channel across the plasma membrane. Neuronal acetylcholine receptor subunit alpha-4 is a transmembrane protein that localises to the cell junction, synapse and post synaptic cell membrane. It belongs to the ligand-gated ionic channel family. Abnormalities in the CHRNA4 gene cause autosomal dominant nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy type 1. This disease is characterised by clusters of motor seizures during sleep.
Batch No. See product label
Unit size 100 µg
Antigen This antibody was raised against a partial recombinant protein of human neuronal acetylcholine receptor subunit alpha-4 (amino acids 29 to 128) with a GST tag.
Other Names GENE NAME: CHRNA4
Accession ACHA4_HUMAN
Produced in Mouse
Purity Protein G purified immunoglobulin
Applications This antibody is recommended for WB and direct ELISA. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Specificity The specificity of this antibody was confirmed by WB and direct ELISA against the antigen.
Cross-reactivity Other species have not been tested.
Blast it If you would like to see the shared identity between different species or other proteins, follow the link in the Accession field, select the sequence (make sure that you are selecting the sequence that you are interested in, as the sequence may be the precursor rather than the mature protein for example) and copy and paste it HERE and blast/format it.
Form Lyophilised mouse IgG in phosphate buffered saline, pH7.2
Reconstitution Reconstitute in 100 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Storage After reconstitution keep aliquots at -20ºC for higher stability or at 4ºC with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Expiry Date 12 months after purchase
