Mouse monoclonal antibody to rat capsaicin receptor (819-838) [5G8A9G8]: IgG

$287.00USD

Catalogue No. M-008-100
Description The capsaicin receptor is involved in the detection of noxious chemical and thermal stimuli. It seems to mediate proton influx and to be involved in intracellular acidosis in nociceptive neurons. It may also mediate inflammatory pain and hyperalgesia. It is activated by vanilloids, such as capsaicin, and temperatures higher than 42ºC. The capsaicin receptor is probably as homotetramer but may also form a heteromeric channel with TRPV3. It interacts with calmodulin, PRKCM and CSK and with PRKCG and NTRK1. There are 3 named isoforms produced by alternative splicing. The capsaicin receptor is a transmembrane protein that localises to the cell membrane. It is predominantly expressed in trigeminal and dorsal root sensory ganglia. Isoform 1 and 3 are also expressed in brain and peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
Batch No. See product label
Unit size 100 µg
Antigen A synthetic peptide (C-GSLKPEDAEVFKDSMVPGEK) as a part of rat VR1 protein (aa: 819-838) conjugated to KLH has been used as the immunogen.
Clone 5G8A9G8
Other Names VR1; Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 1; TrpV1; osm-9-like TRP channel 1; OTRPC1; Vanilloid receptor 1; Capsaicin receptor; VR-1
Accession TRPV1_RAT
Produced in Mouse
Purity Protein G purified immunoglobulin
Applications IHC. Recommended to be used at a concentration of 0.5-1 µg/ml. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Specificity A high level of specificity has been confirmed by immunohistochemical staining of rat DRG.
Cross-reactivity This antiserum is known to react with rat and guinea pig. It is predicted to react with mouse due to sequence homology.
Blast it If you would like to use this product in another species other than those specified here, or to see the shared identity between the immunogen used here in different species and/or other molecules, simply copy the immunogen (from the Immunogen field) and paste it HERE and blast/format it. Note that, antisera raised against synthetic peptides are quite often very specific for that peptide ie only one single amino acid difference may be enough to restrict the specificity to a particular molecule.
Form Lyophilised
Reconstitution Reconstitute in 100 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Storage After reconstitution keep aliquots at -20ºC for a higher stability and at 4ºC with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Expiry Date 12 months after purchase.

Mouse monoclonal antibody to rat capsaicin receptor (819-838) [5G8A9G8]: IgG Immunohistochemical detection of capsaicin receptor in rat dorsal root ganglia using Mouse monoclonal antibody to rat capsaicin receptor (819-838): IgG, catalogue number M-008-100, Clone number 5G8A9G8. Anaesthetised rat was perfused with 4% paraformaldehyde and dorsal root ganglia were postfixed in the same fixatives for 2 hours. The cryostat sections were stained with Monoclonal antibody to capsaicin receptor at the concentration of 0.5 µg/ml and developed with a DAB method with nickel enhancement. The photo taken at 20x magnification. A subpopulation of sensory neurons were stained.
