| Description |
Protocadherin beta-15 is a member of the protocadherin beta gene cluster which contains 16 genes and 3 pseudogenes each encoding 6 extracellular cadherin domains and a cytoplasmic tail that deviates from others in the cadherin superfamily. Protocadherin beta-15 is a potential calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein. It may be involved in the etablishment and maintenance of specific neuronal connections in the brain. It is a single-pass type I membrane protein which contains 6 cadherin domains. |
