Rabbit antibody to CD133/PROM1: Affinity Purified

$327.00USD

Catalogue No. R-1824-100
Description May play a role in cell differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis (PubMed:24556617). Binds cholesterol in cholesterol-containing plasma membrane microdomains and may play a role in the organization of the apical plasma membrane in epithelial cells. During early retinal development acts as a key regulator of disk morphogenesis. Involved in regulation of MAPK and Akt signaling pathways. In neuroblastoma cells suppresses cell differentiation such as neurite outgrowth in a RET-dependent manner (PubMed:20818439). Ref: uniprot.org.
Batch No. See product label.
Unit size 100 ug
Antigen E-coli derived human CD133/PROM1 recombinant protein (position: P531-H865) has been used as the immunogen. Human CD133 shares 61% amino acid sequence identity with mouse CD133.
Antibody Type Polyclonal
Isotype IgG
Other Names Prominin-1, Prominin-like protein 1, PROM1, PROML1, Antigen AC133, MSTP061
Accession O43490 PROM1_HUMAN
Produced in Rabbit
Purity Affinity purified
Applications Western Blot (0.1-0.5 ug/mL): tested in MCF-7 whole cell lysate. Immunohistochemistry: paraffin-embedded section (0.5-1.0 ug/mL): tested in human tonsil tissue. Other applications not yet tested. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Specificity This antibody is specific for CD133 as demonstrated by western blotting.
Species Against Human
Antibody Against CD133/PROM1
Cross-reactivity Human, other species not tested yet.
Form Lyophilized.
Reconstitution Spin vial briefly before opening. Reconstitute in 100 uL sterile, ultrapure water to prepare 1 mg/mL solution. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Storage Store lyophilised antibody at 2-8C. After reconstitution divide into aliquots and store at -20C for long-term storage. Store at 2-8C short-term (up to 4 weeks) with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Expiry Date 12 months after purchase if unopened.

Rabbit antibody to CD133/PROM1: Affinity Purified A - Western Blot analysis of CD133 expression in MCF7 whole cell lysate (40 ug/lane) at 0.5 ug/mL primary antibody concentration. A band at 130 kDa is observed, consistent with the expected molecular weight of glycosylated CD133/PROM1. B - Immunohistochemistry analysis of CD133 expression in human tonsil tissue.
