Rabbit antibody to TRPL (1083-1097): affinity purified

$190.00USD

Catalogue No.: R-147-20
Batch No.: See product label
Unit size: 20 µg
Antigen: A synthetic peptide (C-DNSNFDIHVVDLDEK) as part of Drosophila TRPL protein (aa: 1083-1097) conjugated to Diphtheria toxoid
Other Names: Transient-receptor-potential-like protein, GENE NAME: trpl
Accession: TRP_DROME
Description: FUNCTION: A light-sensitive calcium channel that is required for inositide-mediated Ca(2+) entry in the retina during phospholipase C (PLC)-mediated phototransduction. Required for vision in the dark and in dim light. Binds calmodulin. Trp and trpl act together in the light response, although it is unclear whether they act as heteromultimers or distinct units. Also forms a functional cation channel with trp-gamma. Activated by fatty acids, metabolic stress, inositols and GTP-binding proteins. SUBUNIT: Forms heteromultimers with trp-gamma and, to a lower extent, with trp. Interacts with FKBP59 in vivo and is found in the inaD signaling complex. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Integral membrane protein; in the dark, there is 20 fold more rhabdomeral trpl protein forming plasma membrane channels than in the light. In the light, the protein translocates to an intracellular compartment. Protein levels remain unchanged in light and dark conditions. ALTERNATIVE PRODUCTS: 2 named isoforms produced by alternative splicing. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed predominantly in the rhabdomeres of photoreceptor cells. DOMAIN: Binding of calmodulin to binding site 1 is Ca(2+) dependent, whereas binding of calmodulin to site 2 is Ca(2+) independent. SIMILARITY: Belongs to the transient receptor family. STrpC subfamily. SIMILARITY: Contains 3 ANK repeats.
Produced in: NZ white rabbit
Purity: Affinity purified
Applications: IHC and WB. Recommended to be used at a concentration of 1 µg/ml. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
Specificity: This antiserum detects TRPL in Drosophila and transiently expressed recombinant TRPL.
Cross-react: This antiserum has not been tested in other species than in Drosophila.
Blast it: If you would like to use this product in another species other than those specified here, or to see the shared identity between the immunogen used here in different species and/or other molecules, simply copy the immunogen (from the Immunogen field) and paste it HERE and blast/format it. Note that, antisera raised against synthetic peptides are quite often very specific for that peptide ie, only one single amino acid difference may be enough to restrict the specificity to a particular molecule. Regardless, you can always contact us if you need assistance with this.
Form: Lyophilised
Reconstitution: Reconstitute in 20 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Storage: After reconstitution keep aliquots at -20°C for a higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Expiry Date: 12 months after purchase
