| Description |
Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is a metabolic enzyme responsible for catalyzing the first step of the glycolysis pathway by converting D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (G3P) into 3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate. GAPDH may have other roles in the activation of transcription and in the regulation of apoptosis as well as Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease. |

| Antigen |
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a region (30-44 aa) from the N-terminus of human Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH). |
| Antigen Location |
30-44 |
| Other Names |
Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; GAPDH; Peptidyl-cysteine S-nitrosylase GAPDH; GAPD; |
| Accession |
P04406 G3P_HUMAN; |

| Applications |
Western Blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC). A concentration of 1.0 µg/ml is recommended for WB. Human GAPDH (precursor) has a predicted length of 335 amino acids and MW of 36 kDa. A concentration of 1.0 µg/ml is recommended for IHC to detect the protein in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Heat mediated antigen retrieval is required. A concentration of 1.0 µg/ml is also recommended for IHC in frozen tissue. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. |
| Specificity |
The specificity of this antibody has been confirmed by WB and IHC against the antigen. |
