    Product Info

  • Product Name Cellular tumor antigen p53 (p53), Human, ELISA assay
  • Product Description google The human p53 Kit is a sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is a polyclonal human p53 antibody pre-coated onto the 96-well strip plates provided in the kit. Test samples and standards of known p53 concentration are added to these wells and allowed to complex with the bound p53 antibody. A biotinylated human polyclonal antibody is then added. This detection antibody binds to the antigen thus completing the sandwich. After washing, an enzyme Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase complex (ABC) is added which binds to the second antibody. The peroxidase substrate TMB is added to induce a coloured reaction product. The intensity of this coloured product is directly proportional to the concentration of p53 present in the samples. The purpose of this kit is the in-vitro quantitative determination of human p53 in samples such as culture supernatant and cell lysates. This kit has been configured for research use only and is not to be used in diagnostic or clinical procedures.
  • Alternative Names Cellular tumor antigen p53; Tumor suppressor p53; Phosphoprotein p53; NY-CO-13; TP53; P53;
  • Application(s) ELISA
  • Specificity Human p53
  • Species Reactivity Human
  • Immunogen Description The standard and immunogen in this assays is produced in and purified from a mammalian expression system consisting of amino acids M1-D393
  • Range 156 pg/mL - 10,000 pg/mL
  • Sensitivity < 10 pg/mL
  • Regulatory Status For research use only.

  • Scientific Background p53 is a DNA-binding protein containing transcription activation, DNA-binding and oligomerization domains. p53 is ubiquitously expressed and responds to a variety of cellular stresses to regulate target genes that induce cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, senescence, DNA repair or changes in metabolism. Multiple p53 variants are produced from alternative promoters and alternative splicing.
