    Product Info

  • Product Name Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Mouse, ELISA assay
  • Product Description google The mouse Interleukin 6 (IL-6) Kit is a sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is a monoclonal mouse IL-6 antibody pre-coated onto the 96-well strip plates provided in the kit. Mouse test samples and standards of known IL-6 concentration are added to these wells and allowed to complex with the bound IL-6 antibody. A biotinylated mouse IL-6 antibody is then added. This detection antibody binds to the antigen thus completing the sandwich. After washing, an enzyme Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase complex (ABC) is added which binds to the second antibody. The peroxidase substrate TMB is added to induce a coloured reaction product. The intensity of this coloured product is directly proportional to the concentration of IL-6 present in the samples. The purpose of this kit is the in-vitro quantitative determination of mouse IL-6 in samples such as culture supernatant, serum, plasma (Heparin), plasma (EDTA) and plasma (Citrate). This kit has been configured for research use only and is not to be used in diagnostic or clinical procedures.
  • Alternative Names IL-6; Interleukin-6; B-cell stimulatory factor 2; BSF-2; Interferon beta-2; Hybridoma growth factor; CTL diffenrentiation factor; CDF; IL6; IFNB2
  • Application(s) ELISA
  • Specificity Mouse IL-6
  • Species Reactivity Mouse
  • Immunogen Description The standard and immunogen in this assays is produced in and purified from an E.coli expression system consisting of amino acids, F25-T211
  • Range 15.6 pg/mL - 1,000 pg/mL
  • Sensitivity < 1 pg/mL
  • Regulatory Status For research use only.

  • Scientific Background Interleukin 6 is a cytokine with many biological functions. Some of its roles include the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells, induction of meloma and plasmacytoma growth, induction of nerve cell differentiation, and in hepatocytes, induction of acute phase reactants. IL-6 is secreted and is N- and O-glycosylated post translationally.
