Applications Western blotting (1:5,000) and Immunohistochemistry (1:1,000). Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Specificity Reacts with pig and bovine material. Other species not yet tested. Antibody detects arrestin-1 protein only and does not cross-react with the other 3 arrestin molecules.
Form Lyophilised from a solution containing PBS buffer pH 7.2-7.6 with 5 mM sodium azide as preservative.
Reconstitution Spin vial briefly before opening. Reconstitute in 100 uL sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. Final buffer contains preservative.
Storage Store lyophilised antibody at 2-8C. After reconstitution divide into aliquots and store at -20C for long-term storage. Store at 2-8C short-term (up to 4 weeks). Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Expiry Date 12 months after purchase if unopened.

Mouse antibody to bovine arrestin-1 [S128]: affinity purified Left: Immunohistochemical analysis of arrestin-1 distribution in pig retina. Arrestin (green) is most abundant in the outer segments (OS) and inner surface of the outer nuclear layer (ONL) and can be used to identify components of rod photoreceptor cells (cone photoreceptors have a different arrestin isotype). Other retinal layers are inner segments (IS), outer plexiform layer (OPL), inner nuclear layer (INL) and inner plexiform layer (IPL). The RNA binding protein FOX2 appears red and immunoreactivity is seen in nuclei of horizontal neurons and some other neurons in the INL and IPL. Nuclear DNA appears blue. Right: Western blot analysis of arrestin in bovine retinal extracts. The antibody stains one specific band at 48 kDa, corresponding to retinal arrestin.
