Alternative NamesB-cell translocation gene 4 protein; BTG4
This protein belongs to the BTG family and the unprocessed precursor is 206 amino acids long with a predicted molecular weight of 24KDa. This familly of proteins are structurally related and show antiproliferative activity. BTG4 protein is able to induce G1 arrest in the cell cycle. It is highly expressed in testis and in olfactory epithelium.
Western blot analysis on recombinant protein (with GST tag) using mouse monoclonal antibody to human BTG4 protein, catalogue number M-806-100. This antibody recognises a band of molecular weight of 48.8 KDa corresponding to the recombinant BTG4 protein with the GST tag. Note the GST tag alone has a molecular weight of 26KDa.
