Scientific BackgroundDNA replication licensing factor MCM7 belongs to the MCM family of proteins. MCM7 is required for G1/S phase transition. It ensures the correct assembly of replication forks on chromosomal DNA and that the genome is replicated only once at each cell cycle. Overexpression of MCM7 has been found in human gastric tumors. At least 2 isoforms are produced by alternative splicing.
