Scientific BackgroundPlays a regulatory role in the processing of the amyloid-beta A4 precursor protein (APP) and acts as an inhibitor of the amyloid-beta peptide aggregation and fibrils deposition. Plays a role in the induction of neurite outgrowth. Functions as a protease inhibitor by blocking access of secretases to APP cleavage sites.
A. Western Blot: (0.3 µg/mL) staining of HepG2 cell lysate (35 ug protein in RIPA buffer). Detected by Chemiluminescence B. Flow cytometry analysis: of paraformaldehyde fixed HeLa cells (blue line), permeabilized with 0.5% Triton. Primary incubation 1hr (10 µg/mL) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (1 µg/mL).
