Scientific BackgroundAssembly Polypeptides (AP), also known as adaptors, co-assemble with clathrin during the formation of clathrin coated membranes. AP2 adaptors are associated with the endocytic clathrin coated vesicles at the plasma membrane. The AP2 adaptor is composed of four subunits which includes alpha- and beta-adaptin. This antibody reacts specifically with the alpha-adaptin subunit of the AP2 adaptor.
