    Specifications

  • Product Description Mouse anti-Laminin subunit alpha-1 Monoclonal Antibody (Unconjugated), suitable for WB, IHC-Frozen, IHC-Paraffin-embedded.
  • Application(s) IHC-Frozen, IHC-Paraffin-embedded, WB
  • Application Details Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting (WB). A concentration of 0.25-0.5 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Human laminin (subunit alpha-1) has a predicted length of 3,075 residues and a MW of 337 kDa. A concentration of 0.5-1.0 µg/mL is recommended to detect laminin in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

  • Scientific Background Laminin is a large (900 kDa) complex extracellular glycoprotein and a major component of the basement membrane. Laminin is thought to mediate the attachment, migration, and organization of cells into tissues during embryonic development by interacting with other extracellular matrix components. Laminin is composed of three different polypeptide chains; alpha, beta and gamma which are bound to each other by disulphide bonds into a cross-shaped molecule. Isoforms have been detected for all three chains. The different combinations of the alpha, beta and gamma chains give rise to at least 15 laminin heterotrimers.
