    Specifications

  • Product Description Rabbit anti-Secretogranin-3 (SgIII) Polyclonal Antibody (Unconjugated), suitable for WB, IHC-Frozen.
  • Application(s) IHC-Frozen, WB
  • Application Details Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Western Blotting (WB) and Immunocytochemistry. A concentration of 0.1-0.5 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Human SCG3 (precursor) has a predicted length of 468 residues and MW of 53 kDa. A concentration of 0.5-1.0 µg/mL is recommended to detect the protein in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues as well as formalin/acetone fixed frozen tissues. Heat mediated antigen retrieval is required. A concentration of 0.5-1.0 µg/mL is recommended for IHC-F. A concentration of 1.0 µg/mL is recommended for Immunocytochemistry. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

  • Scientific Background Secretogranin-3 (SCG3) belongs to the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. The protein is expressed in brain, heart, kidney, liver and skeletal muscle but the function of SCG3 is largely unknown. Genetic variations in the SCG3 gene have been suggested to influence the risk of obesity through possible regulation of hypothalamic neuropeptide secretion.
