Tachykinins are active peptides which excite neurons, evoke behavioural responses, are potent vasodilators and secretagogues, and contract many smooth muscles. Tachykinin-3 is a secreted protein and its expression during pregnancy is confined to the outer syncytiotophoblast of the placenta. Plasma concentrations of Tachykinin-3 are grossly elevated in pregnancy-induced hypertension and pre-eclampsia.
Western blot detection of recombinant GST tagged human Tachykinin-3.
Sandwich ELISA using the anti-Tachykinin-3 antibody as a capture antibody. The detection limit for GST tagged recombinant Tachykinin-3 is 0.1 ng/mL.
Immunohistochemical detection of neurokinin B synthesizing neurons in the human infundibular nucleus using the M-871-100 primary antibody (0.1 µg/mL) to tachykinin-3, followed by its visualization with the biotinylated secondary antibody-ABC method and nickel-diaminobenzidine chromogen.
