Alternative NamesHH3R; G-protein coupled receptor 97; HRH3; GPCR97;
Application(s)WB
Antibody HostRabbit
Antibody TypePolyclonal
SpecificityThe specificity of this antibody has been confirmed by WB against the antigen. Human; Rat; Predicted to react with mouse due to sequence homology.
Species ReactivityHuman, Mouse (Predicted), Rat
Immunogen DescriptionA synthetic peptide (CPQKLKIQPHSSLEHCWK) corresponding to a region (428-445) from the C-terminus of human Histamine H3 receptor. To enhance the immunological response, this peptide was coupled to carrier protein BSA.
ConjugateUnconjugated
Purity DescriptionAffinity purified on antigen column
Application DetailsWestern Blotting (WB). A concentration of 0.75 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Human Histamine H3 receptor (isoform 1) has a predicted length of 445 residues and MW of 49 kDa. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Scientific BackgroundThe Histamine H3 receptor is a multi-pass membrane protein that belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. This protein is primarily expressed in the CNS. At least 7 isoforms are produced by alternative splicing. Expression of these isoforms varies with isoform 3 and isoform 7 being highly expressed in the thalamus, caudate nucleus and cerebellum while isoforms 5 and 6 show a poor expression. Isoform 5 and isoform 6 show a high expression in the amygdala, substantia nigra, cerebral cortex and hypothalamus. Isoform 7 is not found in hypothalamus or substantia nigra.
