- Application Details Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting (WB). A concentration of 0.25-0.50 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Bovine Calcineurin alpha has a predicted length of 521 aa and MW of 59 kDa. A concentration of 0.5-1.0 µg/mL is recommended to detect Calcineurin alpha in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

- Scientific Background Calcineurin is a major calmodulin binding protein in the brain. It is a holoenzyme composed of a calmodulin binding subunit, a catalytic alpha subunit (calcineurin A) and a calcium binding beta subunit (calcineurin B). The calcineurin A subunit has at least two isoforms in bovine brain; alpha 1 (61 kDa) and alpha 2 (59 kDa). This antibody reacts with the isoforms of the calcineurin A subunit.
