    Product Info

  • Product Name Neuroblast differentiation-associated protein AHNAK, Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
  • Product Description google Mouse anti-Neuroblast differentiation-associated protein AHNAK Monoclonal Antibody (Unconjugated), suitable for WB, ELISA.
  • Alternative Names Desmoyokin; AHNAK
  • Application(s) ELISA, WB
  • Antibody Host Mouse
  • Antibody Type Monoclonal
  • Specificity The specificity of this antibody was demonstrated by WB against the recombinant protein. Because of is large size, full length detection in westerns is often difficult. Most reports focus on much smaller partial fragments however published reports using polyclonals do show full length AHANK is detectable. Most commonly 20-42 kDa N terminal fragments are detected and resolved on most gels.
  • Species Reactivity Human
  • Immunogen Description Partial recombinant human AHNAK protein (1-101) with a GST tag. It is reported that the monoclonal epitope is the N-terminal part of AHNAK1.
  • Conjugate Unconjugated
  • Purity Description IgG purified monoclonal antibody.
  • Regulatory Status For research use only.

  • Scientific Background Neuroblast differentiation-associated protein or AHNAK and known as desmoyokin, is a large protein (molecular mass, 700 kD) phosphoprotein that can be found as a nuclear protein, a structural scaffold protein and a plasma membrane protein. It was originally identified first as a nuclear phosphoprotein, then later as scaffold protein bovine and named desmoyokin due to its localization pattern in the desmosomal plaque. AHNAK has been shown to be essential for pseudopod protrusion and cell migration but may also play key roles in blood-brain barrier formation, cell structure and migration, cardiac calcium channel regulation, and tumor metastasis.

  • Detection of the partial AHNAK recombinant protein in transfected 293T cell lysates with the mouse monoclonal antibody to human AHNAK nucleoprotein [3G7], catalogue number M-800-100. This antibody detects a 16 kDa band (lane 1) corresponding to the expressed recombinant partial human AHNAK protein. The antibody is not-reactive with non-transfected lysate (lane 2).
