Application DetailsWestern Blotting (WB). A concentration of 0.1-0.5 µg/mL is recommended. Human Fas-L has a predicted length of 281 residues and a band size between 31 - 40 kDa with glycosylation. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
TargetFas ligand (FasL)
SpecificityThe specificity of this antibody has been confirmed by WB.
Target Host SpeciesHuman
Immunogen DescriptionA synthetic peptide (ELSLVNFEESQTFFGLYKL) corresponding to a region (263-281) from human FAS ligand (Fas-L).
Reconstitution InstructionsSpin vial briefly before opening. Reconstitute in 100 µL sterile-filtered, ultrapure water to achieve an antibody concentration of 1 mg/mL. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Storage InstructionsStore lyophilized antibody at 2-8°C. After reconstitution divide into aliquots and store at -20°C for long-term storage. Store at 2-8°C short-term (up to 4 weeks) with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.

Scientific BackgroundThe FAS ligand (Fas-L) belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. The full length Fas-L protein has a cytoplasmic domain, transmembrane (Type II) domain and extracellular domain. The membrane-bound form of Fas-L is proteolytically cleaved to produce soluble Fas-L. There are at least 2 known isoforms of Fas-L produced by alternate splicing.
